Black Dragon - Pu erh Tuocha
Black Dragon - Pu erh Tuocha
Part of a collection of teas named after the different chromatic dragon colors. These teas are single origin teas and perfect for brewing gongfu style, but they are also good brewed western style.
Flavor notes: earthy, mushrooms, subtle dark molasses
Pu erh Tuocha is a popular option for tea lovers who appreciate a dark, smooth, earthy flavor as well as the convenience of individually-wrapped servings. It can endure long steeping times without gaining any bitterness or astringency and can be re-infused many times.
In making the Pu erh Tuocha, more mature leaves of the tea plant are selected in summer, sun-dried, steamed, and then shaped into small bowls. The leaves are processed with a fair amount of moisture, allowing natural fermentation to occur which contributes to the earthy flavor. Because of pu-erh’s richness and depth of flavor, it’s often a favorite for coffee drinkers looking to switch to tea.
Tuochas come wrapped in papers that you remove before steeping! I've hand stamped some of them with a little dragon sitting in my lotus flower logo.
